LASIK (Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis) is one of the most popular and frequently performed laser procedures in the world. The main advantage of the LASIK procedure is a rapid recovery time - usually within 48 hours and with little or no post-operative discomfort.
Step 1
Your Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon will prepare your eye for laser treatment by creating a small flap on the surface of the cornea - the transparent surface at the front of the eye.
Step 2
The Optilase Surgeon will either use a precision surgical instrument known as a microkeratome or utilise blade-free IntraLase technology.
Step 3
The laser is applied to the underlying surface of the cornea to reshape it and correct your vision. This is entirely painless.
Step 4
The flap is then replaced and your eye will begin to heal. Immediately after the procedure you are invited to relax in the clinic while an optilase nurse then advises you on aftercare and provide you with a pack containing everything you need for the healing process.
Is LASIK Right For Me?
LASIK treatment is not suitable for everyone. So, before proceeding with any treatment, the experts at Optilase will perform a full eye examination to determine whether this procedure is right for you.
Are There Any Risks Involved?
