Mark Shortt – Optilase Manager, Ireland - UK Mark has an extensive Management and Clinical background in the Laser Eye Treatment industry and beyond - and is responsible for the Optilase business, development, brand, staff and providing a world class experience to all of the Optilase Patients in each of the Clinics as standard. Mark recognises that the fantastic caring team at Optilase makes the difference to our Patients – this is reflected in our 99.9% referral rates by our Patients.
Mark likes to spend his spare time with his two little girls – Emma and Sophie – whilst also training and keeping fit.
Fred Proctor – Laser Optometrist Fred has been been a Laser Optometrist for over 14 years’ experience as a laser optometrist. He has worked in England, Scotland, Wales, Dublin and Belfast. As well as being passionate and keen upon his duty and care of his Patients as a Laser optometrist, Fred is also involved in the training, development and support for laser optometrists who are new to the Optilase team.
Fred enjoys spending his spare time with his children, working on computers and going to the cinema.
Lawrence - Patient Co-Ordinator/Laser Tecnincian Lawrence is a qualified Wavescan operator for Advanced Customevue Wavefront treatments and is also a certified VISX operator for the STAR S4 IR Excimer laser platform.
Having worked at a number of leading eye clinics, Lawrence brings a wealth of information to Optilase regarding the techical side of laser eye surgery – with the care of the Patients and the results of their treatment at the forefront of the Optilase experience.
Interesting fact about Lawrence - Lawrence has a law degree to add.
Christine Shortt - Senior Coordinator/Patient Carer Christine has been involved within the field of optics and laser eye surgery for a long time - and has worked and managed a range of optical solutions for several providers. For several years now, she has worked within the industry in the UK and Ireland in the laser eye industry. She is very passionate and caring with her patients and enjoys being a core part of such a life changing procedure.
Interesting fact about Christine - She won Belfast's ''Search for a Superstar'' in 2006 and sang live at City Hall on St Patricks day also!
Dee Power – RGN Nurse Dee trained as an ophthalmic nurse in Moorfield Eye Hospital London and worked there for 4 years.
After travelling for a year, Dee joined a private laser eye clinic at Harley Street. She joined Optilase as it was the perfect company to fit with her experience and qualifications in ophthalmology, background and vast experience in the field.
Dee is a fitness fan and attends fitness bootcamps regularly
Tanya- Reception Tanya is the friendly face and voice welcoming and directing you at Optilase.
Donna Thompson – Patient Co-Coordinator Donna has worked within the industry for a number of years and is extremely experienced. She is passionate about meeting new patients and being part amazing experience at Optilase. Donna is a key member of our administration team, and has also adopted a patient carer role, where her caring nature has become an essential part of the aftercare at Optilase.
An Interesting fact about Donna - Donna loves to spend her free time with her Husband and 1yr old son, away from the business, she is a full-time mum!
Lisa McDowell - Senior Refractive Technician Lisa’s experience within the industry is vast. With over 10 years’ experience in the refractive field, Lisa has worked throughout Europe with well-established Ophthalmologic surgeons on various laser platforms and is recognised as one as the most experienced in the field.
Lisa’s passion is spending with her family and her little girl, Eva.
